The Word on the Street Is . . . Dep Wine

Word on the StreetIf you caught our blog post on deps, then dep wine should be self-evident. It’s wine you buy at the dep because you were too late or too lazy to get to the SAQ (Société des alcools du Québec), also known as your local liquor store.

Dep, as a descriptor, can be freely translated as cheap and crappy. If someone suggests that the wine you brought to their dinner party tastes like dep wine, you should take that as an insult and act accordingly—stomp off with your bottle of dep wine (and what’s left in it) tucked under your arm, find the nearest curb, and drown your sorrows.

The real question is: Are there any dep wines worth drinking? If you’ve found one, let us know!
