The Word on the Street Is . . . Hotdogeria

Word on the StreetAs Montreal forbids the selling of street meat, hot dogs have become the mainstay of many a restaurant, taking your typical hot dog stand to the next level. Thus the hotdogeria is born, a sit-down establishment where families can come together over a good steamed dog with slaw.

But the hot dog isn’t the only meat hogging the limelight these days. In Terrebonne (a bedroom community of Montreal), the steakerie is à la mode. A delicious display of the word steak with the French catch-all suffix erie slapped on the end, steakerie is a creative solution to signage that can speak to Anglos and Francos alike.
